I am engaged married.
Yes, although a bit late, but as it’s said better late then never (I mean about the blog post here). Although I was planning to write about it long time back but it just didn’t happen. That’s because life was progressing in a fast lane ever since I got engaged.
I met Vinita in 3rd week of October 2008 in a family get-together. Our first interaction was pretty casual and non-traditional. But when our parents asked us if we wanted to get engaged, she said yes and I went into a deep thinking mode before agreeing. After 3 weeks, we got engaged.
When I announced this breaking news to my colleagues and close friends, everyone started (de)motivating me. People shared their experiences (about marriage, wife, shopping, dining etc.) and other opinions about marriage with me. But my communication channel with Vinita kept reassuring me. Things went on smoothly during the courtship period and we got married on 19th Feb, 2009 successfully. Success?? I guess so.
Immediately after the marriage, we went for a HOLIDAY to Mauritius which was a great start for both of us. It was strongly advised by one of my close friends to go for such a trip immediately after the marriage. We enjoyed our Mauritius trip tremendously, did various water sports (para-sailing, drag on speed boat etc.) We also met a few couples who were undermining (I guess) us as a child couple. Well, it’s not their fault; we do look like one.
It’s been quite some time now that we have been married. Contrary to the opinions/experiences of those people, I can say that marriage is not as radical as it was projected to me. Some things have changed for good, but life is continuing in a pretty exciting mode since then.
2009 as a year will always be a special year for us.
